About me
A long road
After studying fine arts in Montreal I worked for many years as a freelance illustrator. Throughout the years I experimented with multiple mediums and my exploration of ancient techniques brought me to jewelry designing. From painted and cloisonne enamels to micro-mosaic and filigree, I love to reveal what often goes unnoticed. To encapsulate a moment in a piece of jewelry, to make time stop for a brief moment.
Micro-mosaic
Ancient Byzantine Art
A complex technique
Micro-mosaic is a technique where tiny elements of colored enamel are very finely assembled so as to make the joints almost imperceptible.
The miniature tesserae are obtained at the end of a complex process: melting the glass, amalgamating the paste and transforming the amalgam into long threads . The threads are then cut to obtain the tesserae.
To fix them on the support containing a special resin, the mosaicist must use tweezers. Many of these elements have a section of less than 1mm. It is truly the work of a goldsmith. The use of this extraordinarily virtuosic technique on a vast scale led to the founding in 1727 of the Studio Vaticano del Mosaico which is still in operation today.

The Art of a Goldsmith
My design is transferred to a fine silver dial, then a silver wire is shaped with pliers to perfectly match this design. The partitions thus formed are ready to receive the enamel. Great care is required, each partition must clearly separate two tones. After several successive firings and sandings, a delicate piece of goldsmith work is revealed.

Fine silver filigree
Have you ever fallen in love with something so beautiful it left you speechless?
The first time I looked at pictures of old Russian filigree I was in awe. The exquisite fine silver lace just about made me cry. I had to learn the technique and use it to create a very special watch dial.
